EXTREMLY OLD BUILDING don't beleive the photos

I booked through my rewards credit card and the pictures looked nothing like the room I was given. Old damp musty smell with multiple loud dehumidifiers running. A highlight of the amenities -old stained carpets -swollen damaged wall paper -rust damaged sink and tub -broken lights and stains on walls -legitmamelty the hardest bed I've ever slept on in my life. -don't believe any of the pictures. I was stuffed in a room on an unrenovated floor when all the pictures showed nice clean renovated rooms Hotel refused to upgrade me with out charging me. Their response was that it was an old building. Completely unapologetic. Catfished again by chase ultimate rewards.

Good Service during my quarantine stay

Facility is average. Nice people and willing to service during my quarantine stay in Taipei. Surprisingly they can always delivery my Uber eats, Panda Eats, or online shopping instantly. Especially for food delivery, it's important to delivery to room for fresh taste. Santos made it super efficiency. Good jobs.

Avoid quaranine in this hotel

I spent 14 days of a quarantine at Santos Hotel. Any quarantine, being usually tough, at Santos Hotel is a disaster. The food quality is terrible, you can barely eat it, as the taste is a nightmare. Because of the food quality and its quantity, even if you ate everything, you would not be even close to being full. Therefore, I had to order food from FoodPanda. Yet, when the food from FoodPanda arrived, the staff was not very open to bring it to my room, as I was told in a rude way by the front desk that they would bring me food when they want to, not when I ask them to. The room looks like if the time stopped in it about 50 years ago.

Indeed the location of this hotel is excellent within 5 minute walking distance to the nearest MRT station, but the hotel staff is business-like, not friendly and didn't do the things more than required such as check-in or check-out procedures. The problem was a barrier-free room in this hotel. As my wife is in a wheelchair we booked a standard double room called "a barrier-free room" more than two months before our arrival, and we were truly looking forward to staying here. But our expectations were completely betrayed. The room had a big gap, more than 15 centimeters, between the bed room and the bathroom. A wooden ramp for a wheelchair was put there and we had to climb up and down the steep gap every time my wife used the bathroom. It was terrible experience. We named the gap "The Santos Mountain" in Taipei. It seemed like we were hiking there. To make matters worse, shower water was running toward around the toilet whenever taking a shower, and the handrails were set up in the position very far way from the wall. I know the room was rebuilt as a barrier-free room, but we cannot call the room "a barrier-free room" , it was a barrier room in reality.

The location of this hotel is excellent with a MRT station about a 5 minute walk away. The hotel staff are courteous. The hotel is definitely dated with peeling wallpaper in the hallway and old carpet. The room we stayed in was clean but obviously old. There is a loud fan but to me, it was like white noise and didn't interfere with my sleeping. They provide free bottled water every day which was very much appreciated. If you're over 5'7 it will be very uncomfortable for you to shower as it seems they installed a new tub over an old one which made the ceiling really low. My husband who is 6' had to shower hunched over. If you're not too fussy about a dated hotel, this one should suit your needs.
